Meets & Training Trips for Full Time and Invited Athletes

Olympic Trials & Regional Pool Training Trips:

March 9-11

April 6-8

May 11-13

Practice Times: Sat 4-6, Sun 10-12 & 4-6, Mon TBA most likely 10:30-12:30

Anyone can attend these trips; you don’t have to have qualified for Trials or attending the TN Regional to attend. There will be a small split charge to cover pool costs. You are responsible for own travel, hotel, food, etc. TN suggested the Peppermill exit for affordable hotels. 

Carolina Dive Academy - Big Dive 2024

Big Dive Meet-Everyone should attend. North Carolina the week of March 13-16. We will leave from Knoxville on Monday to travel the three hours to NC. Monday evening and Tuesday will be off for everyone. First practice will be Wednesday as listed on meet info (https://www.carolinadivingacademy.com/big-dive-2024) John would like everyone to attend the North Carolina trip. It would be beneficial to also attend the Knoxville training trip on your way down.

Meets for All RipFest Divers

RipFest Intersquad Meets:

Small mini meets great to get your diver's feet use to competing and get an understanding how the majority of diving meets are ran. When you arrive at the site. you will be asked to fill out a paper dive sheet for your events. Divers will get to show off 6 entries of their choice. Whether it is 6 jumps or 6 dives or a combination of both. These meets are designed for our club athletes and lesson divers. Divers will also get to do entries off both 1 meter and 3 meter during the school year months and 1m, 3m and platforms during the summer (meet(s) will be held at Forest Park).

This meet has the opportunity for all level of divers. Please check with your coach prior to registering for a dive list on each event.

ROAD TO USA Diving Junior Nationals

The Road begins by attending one of the USA Diving Regions meets. Those that have the required dives may attend a region meet. Age group is decided by the athletes age as of December 31st, 2024. Generally, you must achieve a place of 15th or higher in the region meet in order to qualify for the Zone meet. You must place 10th place or higher at the Zone meet in order to attend the USA Diving National Meet July 29th-August 7th, 2024 @ Morgantown, WV

Group D (11 and under) - 6 dives :

For 1-meter and 3-meter springboard, divers will perform three (3) voluntary dives and must all be ’01 dives in the tuck position (101c, 201c, 301c, 401c), followed by three (3) optional dives from different groups with a degree of difficulty limit of 2.2 on 1-meter and 2.6 on 3-meter. All voluntary dives will have an assigned degree of 1.8 on 1-meter and 1.9 on 3-meter.

5 Dives for Platform: Divers shall perform three voluntary dives from different groups with a cumulative degree of difficulty not to exceed 5.4, followed by two optional dives from different groups with a degree of difficulty limit of 2.6.

Group C (12 - 13) - 8 dives:

For 1-meter and 3-meter springboard, divers will perform five (5) voluntaries from different groups, followed by three optional dives from different groups. All voluntary dives will have an assigned degree of difficulty of 1.8 on 1- meter and 1.9 on 3-meter. When doing the front/inward voluntary, one (1) must be tuck and one (1) must be pike. When the doing the back/reverse voluntary, divers may choose to do dives in either tuck or pike. There shall be a limit of degree of difficulty of 2.4 for 1-meter optional dives and 2.8 for 3-meter optional dives.

The 5 meter and/or 7.5 meter platforms only for competition:

Girls 6 dives for platform: Divers shall perform four (4) voluntary dives from different groups with a cumulative degree of difficulty not to exceed 7.6, followed by two (2) optional dives from different groups with a degree of difficulty limit of 2.8

Boys 7 dives for platform: Divers shall perform four (4) voluntary dives from different groups with a cumulative degree of difficulty not to exceed 7.6, followed by three (3) optional dives from different groups with a degree of difficulty limit of 2.8.

Group B (14-15) - 9 dives:

For 1-meter and 3-meter springboard, divers shall perform five voluntary dives, one from each group, with a cumulative degree of difficulty not to exceed 9.0 for one meter and 9.5 for three meter, followed by four optional dives from different groups without limit of degree of difficulty. 

Platform Rules 5, 7.5 or 10 meter heights may be used:

Girls - 7 dives: Divers shall perform four voluntary dives with cumulative degree of difficulty not to exceed 7.6, followed by three optional dives from different groups without limit of degree of difficulty. At least five different groups must be used in the competition.

Boys - 8 dives: Divers shall perform four voluntary dives with cumulative degree of difficulty not to exceed 7.6, followed by four optional dives from different groups without limit of degree of difficulty. At least five different groups must be used in the competition.

Group A (16-18) Girls 10 dives & Boys 11 dives:

Girls: For 1-meter and 3-meter springboard, divers shall perform five voluntary dives, one from each group, with a cumulative degree of difficulty not to exceed 9.0 for one meter and 9.5 for three meter, followed by five (5) optional dives from five (5) groups without limit of degree of difficulty.

Boys: For 1-meter and 3- meter springboard, divers shall perform five voluntary dives, one from each group, with a cumulative degree of difficulty not to exceed 9.0 for 1-meter and 9.5 for 3-meter, followed by six (6) optional dives from five groups, with one group being repeated, without limit of degree of difficulty.

Platform Rules - 5, 7.5 or 10 meter heights may be used:

Girls - 9 dives: Divers shall perform four voluntary dives from different groups with a cumulative maximum degree of difficulty of 7.6, followed by five (5)optional dives from different groups without limit of degree of difficulty

Boys - 10 dives: Divers shall perform four voluntary dives from different groups with a cumulative maximum degree of difficulty of 7.6, followed by six (6) optional dives from different groups without limit of degree of difficulty. All six dive groups must be used in the competition.
